China's Guofeng Steel shuts down blast furnace, cuts production

Privately-owned Chinese steel mill Tangshan Guofeng Iron & Steel has shut down one of its blast furnaces after incurring losses of 300 yuan ($49) per tonne of steel, a company official told Steel First on Friday March 14.


Production at ten of the mill’s other blast furnaces has also been cut, the source said, but did not disclose when or by how much capacity had been affected.
