LME considers High Court appeal

The London Metal Exchange has not ruled out appealing the recent UK High Court decision that forced it to delay the implementation of planned changes to its warehousing rules, it said in a notice on Monday April 7.

“The LME is taking legal advice to establish the quickest effective route by which action can be taken to reduce queue lengths at affected warehouses,” it said. “The rule may still be implemented (potentially with revised timing periods), either as the result of an appeal or a fresh market consultation.”
