CESCO: 'Investors have lost faith in us' – Anglo American

Investors have lost faith in copper miners as they saw returns on capital employed (ROCE) drop from 24% to 10% in the six years to 2012, according to Anglo American copper ceo Hennie Faul.

"The question now is were they pipelines or were they pipe dreams?" Faul told delegates.
Responding to declining ROCE across the industry, Anglo has evaluated its asset base and is now focusing much more closely on shareholder value, as it looks to raise ROCE to 15% by 2016, Faul said.
