European domestic stainless steel grade-304 index falls $4

Steel First’s grade-304 stainless steel European raw materials index was down by $4.22 week-on-week on Monday June 30.

The index, based on a typical grade-304 slab from a European stainless producer, closed at $1,844.12 per tonne, down from $1,848.34 on June 23.
The fall comes despite higher week-on-week nickel prices on the London Metal Exchange, where the three-month bid/offer spread closed at $18,795/18,800 per tonne, up from $18,500/18,525 a week earlier.
