Mexico gives final approval to energy sector reforms

Mexico has given final approval to energy sector reform measures which will open up the country’s oil, gas and electricity industries to foreign investment.


National president Enrique Peña Nieto late last year approved a new energy law, but the so-called secondary legislation, which includes 21 new laws required for the reforms to take effect, was only approved on Wednesday August 6.
