LME says aluminium premiums contract is next focus after LME Clear

The London Metal Exchange is focused on the launch of an aluminium premiums contract, after getting approval from the Bank of England for its new clearing platform.

LME Clear was given the go-head by the UK’s central bank to be a central counterparty under European Markets Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR) rules.
This development clears the way for the LME to focus on other projects, including new contracts such as the aluminium premiums contract.
