CIS pig iron prices stable on limited trade, Ukraine uncertainty

The CIS-origin pig iron market has held steady amid limited trading and worries over short-term prices and supplies, sources told Steel First on Thursday September 18.

Steel First assessed Russia-origin basic low-manganese pig iron prices on September 18 at $420-430 per tonne fob Baltic Sea for the last cargoes of November production, unchanged from the previous week
Prices for the same material have been rising in recent weeks on uncertainty over supplies from Ukraine, but further rises could be short-lived, a distributor said.
