China's crude steel output dips in mid-September

China’s crude steel output retreated in mid-September, as steelmakers faced shrinking profits amid a slump in steel prices.


Member mills of the China Iron & Steel Assn (Cisa), which are mainly medium-sized and large steelmakers, produced an average of 1.787 million tpd during the second ten days of the month, down 0.5% from the previous period, according to data released by the industry body on Thursday September 25.
