BC Iron posts 41% drop in Q3 iron ore sales

Australia’s BC Iron said sales of iron ore from its Nullagine joint venture (NJV) plummeted to 0.95 million wet metric tonnes (wmt) during the third quarter of 2014, compared with 1.62 million wmt a year ago.

They were also down 33% compared with the 1.43 million wmt sold in April-June.
The drop was attributed to the implementation of initiatives to reduce higher clay content in some mesas of the Nullagine operations, the miner said on Tuesday October 28.
