China’s stainless prices rise on soaring nickel; sales remain sluggish

China's spot stainless steel prices rose this week on a strong nickel performance, although traders are struggling to push through further rises amid weak demand.


Benchmark 304 cold rolled coil was traded at 16,000-16,600 yuan ($2,606-2,704) per tonne including VAT in the major Wuxi market on Thursday November 27, up 400 yuan ($65) per tonne from Steel First's assessment last Friday.
