Atlas Iron slashes 80 jobs, directors resign

Australian mid-tier iron ore producer Atlas Iron has slashed 80 jobs as it struggles to stay in business amid tumbling iron ore prices.

A spokesman for the company confirmed the job cuts to Steel First on Thursday December 4, and said the move was part of the miner’s cost-cutting programme.
