ASIAN MORNING BRIEF: Key stories on December 16

Good morning from Metal Bulletin's London offices, bringing you up to date with the key news and price moves at the start of the Asian day.

Base metals prices fell back in kerb trading on the London Metal exchange on Monday, closing beneath their opening prices after rising early in the day.
"Almost without exception, metals [were] gaining in price as the year’s last full week of trading [began]," a broker said in a note.
Three-month copper closed the day at $6,400 per tonne, from its official settlement price of $6,499.50/500 per tonne.
