Rwanda reopens tin smelter

Rwanda’s only tin smelter, owned by Phoenix Metal, restarted smelting of tin concentrate on January 21 after a decade of standing idle, according to a local paper.

The smelter, located in the Karuruma, Kigali region, has two furnaces with a total smelting capacity of 7,200 tpy.
