Aluminium antitrust suit takes new angle

A group of aluminium consumers hope to draw comparisons between an alleged conspiracy to rig foreign exchange rates and what they claim was a scheme among warehousing companies to inflate the US Midwest premium.

The legal team representing Mortsel, Belgium-based Agfa Corp, Ontario, California-based Mag Instrument Inc and Rochester, NewYork-based Eastman Kodak Co in an antitrust suit against defendants that include New York-based JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Goldman Sachs Group Inc submitted a letter to federal Judge Katherine B Forrest highlighting a recent decision pertaining to antitrust allegations in the foreign exchange market.
