Anglo American’s Minas-Rio iron ore project may suffer further impairment

Anglo American’s Minas-Rio iron ore project in Brazil may suffer additional impairment charges depending on iron ore prices, the company said in its annual report released on Monday March 16.

Anglo American has reported a $3.5 billion impairment charge at its Minas-Rio iron ore project in its 2014’s earnings release.
“The valuation remains sensitive to price and further deterioration in long-term prices may result in additional impairment,” Anglo American said in the report.
