LME OFFICIALS: Base metals prices see strength on dollar weakness, seller resistance

Base metals saw further strength during the official session on the London Metal Exchange on Friday March 20, as the market continued to digest relatively bullish news from the US Federal Reserve.

“The Fed’s successful completion of its ‘exit from forward guidance’ on March 18 was greeted with remarkable fervour by the markets, which have been focused on the benefits of Fed policy certainty for almost the entirety of the post-crisis period,” an analyst said in a note. “At its most straightforward, this appears a very bullish outturn, completing the transition from the ‘deflation mania’ that dominated markets in the latter part of 2014, where ever-greater policy stimulus was demanded,”...
