Indonesia’s planned rise in import duties will target flat steel products

Indonesia’s plan to increase the import duties on a variety of steel products would mainly affect carbon flat steel goods, according to a senior official at the Indonesian Iron & Steel Industry Assn (IISIA).

A proposal to increase duties to 15% for 130 tariff codes for finished steel products has been prepared by the country’s industry ministry and sent for approval to the finance ministry.
