Buyers hesitant over higher CIS pig iron export prices

CIS pig iron export prices have inched down over the past week with new deals clinched, sources told Steel First.

A deal for 5,000 tonnes of high-manganese pig iron from Ukraine’s Donetskstal (DMZ) was confirmed to have been clinched at slightly below $260 per tonne fob Mariupol (Azov Sea) level for May shipment, according to three market participants.
The rest of DMZ’s May output will cover its old orders, sources said.
