LME WEEK ASIA: Triland Metals looks to bulk commodities and other exchanges

Triland Metals, LME ring dealing member and precious metals broker, plans to expand its Singapore office further, apply for membership on other metal bourses and is exploring opportunities in products such as bulk commodities.

"Triland going forward wants to explore other metal products, as our customer base has interest in iron ore, coking coal, thermal coal," chief operating officer Martin Pratt told Metal Bulletin in an interview during LME week Asia in Hong Kong.

"As a company we need to look at other products outside trading the LME space," he added.
The Singapore office now has seven employees from the four it started out with a year ago.
"We are expanding the footprint in Singapore and the target is twelve [employees] in 12-24 months," he said, adding the company will be looking for Mandarin speakers for its Singapore office.
Triland's headquarters and metals trading hub remains in London, while its overseas regional sales offices are in New York, Tokyo and Singapore.
