CFSI ‘ready to help’ companies with requirements of planned EU conflict minerals law

The Conflict-Free Sourcing Initiative (CFSI) has said it “stands ready to help” companies to address the requirements of conflict minerals legislation set to be implemented in the European Union.

Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) voted on the legislation on May 20 and called for mandatory certification for “all Union importers” of tin, tungsten, tantalum and gold.
The CFSI is now working on a risk methodology to provide support to member companies in determining whether material is conflict-affected under the planned new law, it said.
