Mexico’s Deacero halts steel mill, cuts jobs

Mexican long steel producer Deacero has halted production at its steel mill in Saltillo city, in the country’s Coahuila state, because of the tough competition in the local market, it told Steel First on Tuesday July 7.

The company did not disclose the facility output capacity.
Deacero has also cut 2,500 job positions throughout the country in the last two years, it added.
