In April, the group
revised downward its forecast for the steel industry in 2015, due to the deterioration in national economic and political conditions and a loss of competitiveness in the industrial sector.
Apparent steel use is expected to return to the level seen in 2007, at 22.7 million tonnes – down by 7.8% on an annual basis.
Steel sales to the Brazilian market, meanwhile, are forecast to come to 19.07 million tonnes this year, a decrease of 8% over 2014’s volumes.
