IABr CONFERENCE: ArcelorMittal to idle Brazilian long steel mill on poor demand

ArcelorMittal will temporarily halt operations at one of its ten long steel rolling mills in Brazil because of weak market conditions, Long Carbon Americas ceo Jefferson de Paula has said.


The 500,000-tpy facility at the company’s 1 million-tpy Piracicaba unit, in the country’s south-eastern São Paulo state, will be idled next month.
