Demand from striking contractors "not compatible" with market conditions, Codelco says

The world's top copper producer Codelco said on Tuesday July 21 that the increase in the benefits package demanded by striking contractors is "not compatible" with the current market conditions.

At a meeting with executives of the services contractors companies, Codelco's ceo Nelson Pizarro said that the present benefits package involves a cost of about $120 million per year.
