Glencore's copper output down 3% in H1 on lower grade, maintenance

Glencore’s copper production totalled 730,900 tonnes for the first half of 2015, down 3% compared with the same period last year.

The company's total copper output for the second quarter increased 2% year-on-year to 380,200 tonnes, up from 371,700 tonnes in Q2 2014. The miner attributed the half-year decline to lower grade at Alumbrera and Antamina, as well as planned maintenance at Collahuasi, though its production at African copper mines saw growth in the first half.
