TIANJIN BLAST: Manganese ore transport restrictions partly removed; raw material shortage unlikely

Post-blast restrictions on the transport of manganese ore at Tianjin have been partly removed after four days of strict controls at the port, sources said.

As a result, there will be no shortage of the steelmaking raw material because the restrictions were in place for less than a week, sources told Metal Bulletin.

“After the explosion, the port of Tianjin had severe transport restrictions for four days, from August 12-16. Today, on Monday August 17, market participants can take manganese ore out of warehouses that are about 10km away from the site of the blast,”...
