Dundee’s Tsumeb smelter starts maintenance shutdown

Dundee Precious Metals started a maintenance shutdown at its Tsumeb copper concentrate smelter in Namibia on Saturday September 12.

The closure will enable the company to re-brick its furnace and replace the refractor sidewall lining, the company announced this week.
“The addition of a second maintenance shutdown in 2015 is not expected to significantly impact our 2015 smelter production guidance,” Rick Howes, president and ceo of Dundee Precious Metals, said in a statement.
