Mines evacuated after massive earthquake in Chile; no damages to premises reported

Chile’s copper producer Codelco had to evacuate workers at some of its operations after a strong earthquake hit the country on Wednesday September 16.

The quake of 8.4 magnitude that struck Chile’s northern region prompted authorities to issue a tsunami warning for Chile, Peru and French Polynesia.
