China Steel Corp will buy Taiwanese mill's land, buildings for $100m

China Steel Corp (CSC) has agreed to pay NT$3.35 billion ($102 million) for land and buildings belonging to World Best Co, an electric arc furnace (EAF) mill located in Kaohsiung, in southern Taiwan.


The decision was made by CSC’s board on Thursday October 1. Taiwan’s largest steelmaker plans to use the 114,647-sq-metre land and 36,754-sq-metre buildings as “inventory warehouses” for its steel products, it said on the same day in a filing to the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
