Browning, Shi set up futures brokerage Bands Financial with eyes on China

Brokers John Browning and Tiger Shi have set up a futures brokerage, Bands Financial Ltd, which was licensed by Hong Kong’s Securities & Futures Commission on October 13, they told Metal Bulletin.

Browning and Shi will offer a full range of futures for its clients: equity index, energy, grains, softs, currencies, precious metals as well as base metals. The brokers, who both formerly worked for Newedge and Jefferies, plan to have 50-60 clients by October 2016, from hedge funds, corporates and high net worth individuals. “Getting the HK licence for Bands Financial is a crucial step forward and now we have to convert this into real business,” Browning said.
