Feng Hsin raises scrap prices for fourth week

Taiwan’s Feng Hsin Steel has increased both its domestic scrap purchase prices and its rebar selling price by NT$200 ($6) per tonne this week, mainly because of higher imported scrap prices.

The mill will now pay NT$4,600-5,200 ($140-159) per tonne for mainstream grades of scrap – the equivalent of HMS, shredded and plate & structural (P&S) material – delivered to its two steelworks in Taichung, in central Taiwan, effective Tuesday November 24....
