Mexican steelmaker Tyasa to build Castrip sheet mill

Talleres y Aceros SA de CV (Tyasa) has begun construction of a Castrip facility at its site in Ixtaczoquitlán, Mexico.


Castrip reports that the Mexican steelmaker will be the first licensee, besides Nucor, to build a thin-strip mill using its technology. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. According to Castrip, the plant will be able to produce 500,000 tons annually of thin-gauge, high-strength sheet steel.
