ALUMINA INDEX: Declines slow as sellers hold above $200

Alumina’s price falls slowed last week, as market participants encountered some psychological resistance to prices below $200 per tonne.

Metal Bulletin’s alumina index (fob Australia) settled at $201.54 per tonne on Friday December 18, down 1.8% from the previous week.
Prices are “hovering” around $200 per tonne, tracking a slight slip in the yuan price of the raw material, a consumer told Metal Bulletin.
