UK minister denies misleading MPs in nuclear plant steel claim

UK business minister Anna Soubry has countered claims that she misled members of Parliament (MPs) over the capability of UK steelmaker Sheffield Forgemasters to make parts for a planned nuclear power station.


The clarification came after Soubry wrote a letter to MP Iain Wright concerning steel procurement for the Hinkley Point C project in Somerset, south-west England, which will be built by French energy company EDF.
