The Indonesian Government has decided to review its 2009 mining law, which banned exportation of unprocessed minerals including nickel and bauxite from January 2014. The review has been prompted as collapses in key base metal/ore prices (principally nickel and bauxite/alumina) forced many projects to be postponed.
