CIS pig iron export prices hold up despite holiday break

CIS pig iron export prices have maintained their upward trend, although little business was heard done over the past week as sellers were mostly away for national holidays.

Steel First’s weekly price assessment for CIS-origin high-manganese pig iron exports was $305-320 per tonne fob Black Sea on Thursday May 5, up from $290-305 per tonne fob a week ago.
Ukrainian merchant pig iron producer Donetskstal (DMZ) had earlier announced an indicative offer for its June-production high-manganese pig iron at $320 per tonne fob Black Sea, in late April, according to traders.
