Import scrap prices rebound in Taiwan after $100-105 plunge

Taiwan’s import prices for containerised HMS-grade scrap have gone up for the first time since the end of April, as US suppliers raised their offer prices amid limited cargo availability to the East Asian island.

Steel First’s import price assessment for USA-origin HMS 1&2 (80:20) was $190-195 per tonne cfr Taiwan for the week ended Friday June 10, up by $5 per tonne from the preceding week’s $185-190 per tonne.
