Yunnan tells Fanya investors to make claims before end-June

Yunnan’s regional government has urged investors in the collapsed Fanya minor metals exchange to put in claims for their investments before the end of June, according to a statement on the Kunming local government website on June 22.

Fanya assets and capital, “including about 70,000 tonnes of non-ferrous metals”, have been seized by the Kunming police, the statement said. This is the first time that the Yunnan government has presented a deadline for victim registration, which may indicate the investigation is coming to an end, and that the authorities are getting ready to take the case to trial.
