Asian manganese alloy prices have posted impressive gains over the past month, but the momentum has now slowed and prices are stabilising. Chinese 65% ferro-manganese prices jumped 28.1% month-on-month in August to Rmb5,600-5,800/t ($839-869/t) in warehouse and the Chinese 65% manganese silico-manganese price increased 31.4% to Rmb6,900/t ($1,034/t) in warehouse. At the same time Indian 65% manganese silico-manganese increased over 10% month-on-month to $785-820/t, FOB, with MBR seeing further upward movement possible once Indian silico-manganese producers liquidate their relatively low-priced manganese ore inventories.
