CIS export pig iron prices hold as buying activity slows down

Buying activity in CIS pig iron export market has slowed over the past week amid a traditional weakening in demand for steel products at the end of the year, and uncertainty in the raw materials segment.

Metal Bulletin’s export price assessment for high-manganese pig iron from the CIS was unchanged on Thursday December 15 at $285-310 per tonne fob Black Sea, as no new offers or deals were heard in the market.
The assessment for imported pig iron in Italy was also stable week-on-week at $300-330 per tonne cfr main ports.
