Indonesian ministry recommends 1.1m tonnes Freeport Grasberg copper conc export permit

Indonesia’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has recommended that PT Freeport be given a year-long permit to export over 1.1 million tonnes of copper concentrates from the country, it said in a statement released at 17:55pm Jakarta time on Friday February 17.

The permit recommended by the ministry would allow PT-Freeport (PT-FI), a subsidiary of commodities conglomerate Freeport-McMoRan, to export tonnage it has stockpiled at Grasberg.
