CIS export billet prices keep strengthening on Turkey, China influences

CIS-origin billet export prices have continued to rise over the past week, fuelled by an import scrap price rise in Turkey as well as higher billet prices in China, Metal Bulletin learnt on Monday February 20.

Metal Bulletin’s price assessment for CIS billet exports rose to $380-400 per tonne fob Black Sea on Monday, compared with $362-370 per tonne fob a week earlier.
Buying activity in the Middle East-North Africa (Mena) region has enlivened somewhat, though it was notable that Turkish customers still give preference to scrap bookings.
