CIS billet export prices keep rising on low availability, growing global opportunities

CIS billet export prices continued to move further upwards over the past week, supported by growing opportunities in the global semi-finished market, sources told Metal Bulletin on Monday February 27.

Higher prices were also helped by the reduced availability of the material from Ukraine, due to railway blockades in the east of the country, they added.
Metal Bulletin’s weekly price assessment for CIS billet exports narrowed upwards to $385-400 per tonne fob Black Sea on Monday, compared with the previous range of $380-400 per tonne fob.
