Swedish government to help fund CO2-free steel industry initiative

An initiative for the creation of a carbon-dioxide-free steel industry by Swedish steelmaker SSAB, iron ore producer LKAB and power company Vattenfall has gained additional support from the Swedish Energy Agency, SSAB said on Monday February 27.

The agency has passed a resolution to finance a four-year long research project worth SKr102 million ($11.28 million).
