CIS billet export prices strengthen amid tight supply

CIS billet export prices have continued to grow over the past week, supported by reduced availability of material, Metal Bulletin learnt on Monday March 6.

Supply from Ukraine has remained tight amid stoppages at some mills due to blockades on the railways in the east of the country.
Offers from Russian mills were also rare as most of them have already sold out their allocated material.
Recent offers from Ukraine`s Elektrostal were heard at $405 per tonne fob Azov Sea, which can be normalised to $410 per tonne fob Black Sea.
Compatriot mil ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih as well as Russia’s Novorossmetal offered billet at $410 per tonne fob Black Sea.
