Taiwan scrap import prices fall for second week

Import prices for containerised HMS-grade ferrous scrap in Taiwan have fallen for the second straight week as buyers on the island became cautious because of market weakness in both Turkey and China.

Metal Bulletin’s import price assessment for USA-origin HMS 1&2 (80:20) was $268-275 per tonne cfr Taiwan for the week ended Friday March 24. This was down by $5-10 per tonne from $278-280 per tonne cfr in the preceding week.
