CIS billet prices weaken on cheaper scrap costs

The falling price trend seen in the global scrap market last week has sent CIS billet prices downward, sources told Metal Bulletin on Monday March 27.

Lower prices for semi-finished steel products in the domestic market in China were another negative factor affecting the market, they said.
Metal Bulletin’s weekly price assessment for CIS billet exports dropped to $385-395 per tonne fob Black Sea on Monday, compared with the previous range of $390-410 per tonne fob.
