Cyclone Debbie shuts down Queensland's main coal rail systems for weeks

The reopening of all four coal systems that are part of the central Queensland coal network in Australia will take up to five weeks in the wake of Cyclone Debbie, rail freight operator Aurizon said on Monday April 3.

The Goonyella system, which connects to the Dalrymple Bay and Hay Point coal terminals, is likely to require approximately five weeks for the recovery of its infrastructure, the operator added.
