Russia’s MMK returns to Southern European market with HRC offers

Russian steelmaker Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) has resumed trading hot rolled coil (HRC) in Southern Europe, after the European Commission (EC) decided not to set preliminary anti-dumping duties, sources told Metal Bulletin on Wednesday April 5.

MMK stopped exporting HRC to the EU after the EC started registering HRC imported from both Russia and Brazil on arrival in the EU on January 6, 2017.
The EC initiated an anti-dumping investigation into imports from Russia, Ukraine, Brazil, Iran and Serbia on July 7 and the preliminary duties were supposed to be imposed on April 7 this year.
