EU long steel market looking for $40 per tonne price rises

European steelmakers are targeting higher prices for finished long steel products, market sources told Metal Bulletin this week.

At least one EU steelmaker has increased its prices for production rebar, wire rod, beams and merchant bar by €40 ($42) per tonne, according to market participants. And a Northern Europe steel beam producer has incfeased prices by €15 ($16) per tonne, with further increases expected, sources said.
